ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive JKIA and Transfer to Your Hotel

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and meet with your driver guide and then transfer to Southern Sun Hotel in Nairobi City. You will have dinner and overnight at your hotel. There are no activities planned for today in order to allow for time to settle down in Nairobi and prepare for their epic safari experience.

Day 2: Depart to Amboseli National Park

You will be picked up from your city hotel at 0730hrs and drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving at 1200hrs at the lodge. There you will have time to check in and have lunch. Later on, depart for an afternoon game drive until sunset. Amboseli National Park is everyone’s classic image of East Africa: herds of great animals moving across the dusty plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro rising straight up in the background. Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 19,340 feet (5,895 meters). Although it is situated inside Tanzania, the best views of the mountain are from Amboseli on the Kenyan side of the border. Meals and overnight will be at (FB).

Day 3: Depart for Lake Naivasha Excursions

After breakfast, depart at 0630hrs and drive onto the floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving at Lake Naivasha at 1130hrs. Between 1130hrs and 1500hrs you will have time to relax and enjoy the cool climate and the birds that swarm the lakeside. You will have lunch at the Lake Naivasha Country Club. Later depart to take a boat ride which will take you up to Crescent Island for approximately 3 hrs. Lake Naivasha is known for large hippo life; it is also the country’s second largest fresh water lake. Bird lovers will find a haven of over 350 bird species and there are plenty of more common animals like antelopes, hippos, and buffalo. Those seeking an expedition of a lifetime will enjoy a fulfilling boat trip, which by far is the best way to explore the lake. Meals and overnight will be at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Bogoria Excursions

You will depart at 0630hrs after breakfast and drive to Lake Bogoria arriving at approximately 0900hrs. There you will be shown around for a couple of hours and have an early lunch. Lake Bogoria is a popular place for its hot, warm, and cold geyser springs, which were formed due to volcanic activity. At 1200hrs you will depart for Lake Nakuru, arriving at approximately 1400hrs. Then you will check in at the hotel and depart for the afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park until sunset. Lake Nakuru is a bird paradise with hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos and pelicans, as well as rhino, (White and Black) buffalo, lion, and the rare bushbuck are also Present Park. Meals and overnight are at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart at 0700hrs and drive further southwest through the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara. You will arrive there at 1300hrs at the camp/hotel and have lunch. You will then have an afternoon game drive in the vast Mara Plains in search of the predators such as the lions with dark manes, cheetah, leopard, and many herbivores especially during the yearly migration of wildebeest. Maasai Mara Game Reserve covers 700 Square miles of magnificent wilderness. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. It’s the land of the African legend: lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra.

Day 6-7: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

You have a full two days in the Mara dedicated to full day game viewing depending on your preferences. You have the option of visiting the Maasai village or going on a balloon safari (at an extra cost) In case you opt for the balloon safari, here is the itinerary: Depending on where you are staying, you will be picked up very early in the morning and transferred by a 4×4 jeep to the launching site at 05:00 hrs. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. You will take off at dawn, rising as the sun rises and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon. Upon landing, you can observe the complete deflation of the balloon and be ready for a full bush breakfast. Meals and overnight will be at La Maison Mara CAmp.

Day 8: Departure to Nairobi City

At 06:30 hrs, you can go for a morning game drive before breakfast. Return to the lodge at 09:00 hrs for breakfast and then depart to Nairobi for your day rooms. On arrival you will be transferred back to the hotel for an overnight or to the airport for your journey back home. Lunch will be on own arrangement. Optional excursions in Nairobi can be arranged at an extra cost.

Day 9: Transfer to Jomo Kenya International Airport

On this day we will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
